6th Annual Sugar Free Bowl @ IM Fields.

Welcome.

Welcome to the official website of the Founding Chapter of Delta Epsilon Psi Fraternity, Inc., at the University of Texas at Austin. We hope that you will take the time to explore our site and learn about our prestigious fraternity, which is founded on the values of brotherhood, discipline, and commitment. We are committed to pursuing excellence in all aspects of our lives, most notably in leadership and philanthropy. Through our values and goals, we strive to become upstanding members of our community and to inspire others both within and outside of our fraternity to be the same.

As a South Asian Brotherhood, Delta Epsilon Psi takes pride in its diverse cultures and promotes its philanthropy through volunteer service and leadership within the surrounding community. While uniting the brothers more intimately with the community, Delta Epsilon Psi fosters the proliferation of South Asian philosophy and culture to transcend religious and regional barriers and to create South Asian awareness.

9th Annual Project: Come Together.

The 9th Annual Project Come Together was hosted on the last day of spring semester classes, on May 2nd, 2008, by the Founding Chapter of Delta Epsilon Psi along with the Neighborhood Longhorns Program and the Division of Recreational Sports at Gregory Gym, Gregory Plaza, Speedway Plaza, East Mall, and Clark Field. The event served three main purposes: to bring together university organizations in a single day of service on campus, to reward AISD students for academic excellence by providing a fun and safe environment and to encourage AISD elementary school students to interact with University of Texas students in hopes of fostering the idea of higher education. All students were rewarded with carnival rides, student-manned booths filled with games, food, and prizes, and a special show.

The 9th Annual PCT was expanded to include Clark Field in addition to Gregory Gym and Plaza. By including Clark Field we looked to add physical fitness to our existing goals. We also hoped to increase exposure to campus by having students commute between the two major sites, Gregory Gym and Clark Field. We were able to bring over 2,700 students to Project Come Together this year. In addition, we put on an educational show consisting of scientific demonstrations with special guest speaker Dr. David Laude, the Associate Dean in the College of Natural Sciences. The event was a huge success and was the best PCT yet!

5th Annual Sugar Free Bowl.

The 5th Annual Sugar Free Bowl was hosted on Saturday, November 17th, 2007 by the Founding Chapter of Delta Epsilon Psi at the University’s Intramural Fields. The purpose of the event was simply to raise Juvenile Diabetes Awareness by throwing the largest single-day flag football tournament on UT campus ever. With three divisions (Men’s A – Competitive, Men’s B – Recreational, & Co-ed), over 36 teams, and over 100 volunteers, the event was the largest yet. Though games lasted from early morning to night, the event was also filled with skills challenges (side games), informative booths, food, and prizes. The tournament was enjoyed by hundreds of spectators, mainly university students. Also, a full lunch was served to everyone present and a formal presentation on Juvenile Diabetes Awareness was given shortly afterwards with special guest speakers, Gregory J. Vincent (Vice President of the University of Texas for Diversity and Community Engagement), Vicki Callegari (Executive Director of the Austin Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), and Representative Solomon Ortiz Jr. During the presentation, a check for $43,000 was presented to JDRF on behalf of Vishal Bhagat, a brother of Delta Epsilon Psi who had Juvenile Diabetes and passed away last year. After the presentation, the tournament continued with playoff games into the night. The final check presentation for winning teams concluded the 5th Annual Sugar Free Bowl.
